This preparation for our tilapia loins, is a quick and healthy alternative to frying and or baking.


BUTTER POACHED TILAPIA

INGREDIENTS

1lb Sea Best® Tilapia Loins
1 cup chicken broth
1cup white wine
3cloves garlic, sliced
8tablespoons of butter
salt and pepper

DIRECTIONS

  • In a large sauce pan over medium high heat, bring the chicken broth, white wine and garlic to a boil for 5 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, season each side of the tilapia loins with salt and pepper.
  • Lower the temperature to medium low, add the butter to the broth. When the butter is almost melted, add the tilapia loins, cover and cook for about 5 minutes. Cook until the tilapia flakes easily with a fork. Be careful not to let the butter brown.
  • When ready to serve, remove tilapia loins and incorporate into your favorite recipe such as fish tacos or fish wrap. Season remaining sauce with salt and pepper, if desired and drizzle over tilapia.
